Maroon Anemonefish / Premnas blaculeatus
image
SCIENTIFIC NAME - Premnas blaculeatus
COMMON NAME - Maroon Anemonefish (Maroon Clownfish, Spinecheek Anemonefish)
SIZE - 6.3" ( 16 cm)
MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 30 US Gal. (114 L)
FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied diet for omnivores, herbivores, mysid shrimp, vitamin enriched brine shrimp, vegetable marine flake. Feed at least 2 times a day.
REEF COMPATIBILITY - Excellent
CAPTIVE CARE - One of the largest and most aggressive anemone-fish, do not keep with other Clowns, or peaceful tank mates, has cheek spines which get caught in nets so caution should be used if netting this fish, Keep singly or in a mated pair, females can get up to three times larger than males, easily acclimates to captivity, will accept a wide variety of marine fare. A specimen container is preferred if the fish is to be captured, prefers the Bubble tip Sea Anemone (Entacmaea Quadricolor) as it's host anemone.
