bird nest

My bird’s nest appears to be rotting from the base and turning green. There also a spot where some weird hair is growing out of it. I did some research and it looks like it’s green boring algae but I’m not sure. Is fragging the only way to fix this?

I live in the Tampa area and I was looking to buy some sps colonies specifically Bali green slimer, montipora digitata, and some birdsnest.

Dear All Got this Neon Green Bird nest last evening. Dipped in Coral Rx before placing in my tank. There is a white lesion at the base of the stem. I believe it was there when I got it from LFS, I have failed to spot it. Is this Tissue Necrosis? I have never fragged corals before. Please...
