    Salt suggestion

Hi reefers, I’m running a nice mix reef tank with LPS and SPS. I’m currently using IO reef crystal salt, but thinking of switching. I usually keep Alk around 7-8, Calcium around 420, Mag around 1290. I’m dosing two parts with Magnesium. I have no problem with reef crystal salt at all, but its...

    Red Sea Salt (Blue Bucket)

Hello, Switching to Red Sea Blue Bucket from Tropic Marin. My routine was to mix 30gal at a time and store it doing 5gal changes every other week. With Blue Bucket I notice it says not store longer than 7 days. A bit of a bummer but has anyone stored this salt mix longer and continued to use it...

    Should I switch salt?

I currently use Red Sea Coral Pro salt which has a dkh of 11.5. I started using All For Reef on my 25 gallon mixed reef tank which I'm assuming has a dkh around 7.5 ~ 8.5. Is it worth the cost of raising the dkh of the All For Reef by addition of alkalinity? Or should I start using Red Sea's...

Auto Water Change - Salt Change Idea (higher alk / cal to reduce daily two part input)

I have recently successfully implemented an auto water change system into my 120 gallon mixed reef, and I absolutely love it. I'd now like to pick your brains regarding the salt I am using and the one I may start using. Currently I mix up around 55 gallons of Red Sea salt, every month or so...

Nano Build A new start - my 24g cube build

And it starts again...! Long story short...I had this 24g AIO cube mixed reef tank running from from May 2019 to July 2020 and then unfortunately had to take it down as I was not in town for a prolonged 8 months and the LFS care that I was relying on was not going much good. This time I...

Switching Salts? Red Sea Salt vs Brightwell Neomarine

Hello Everyone! I've been using Red Sea Salt (light blue bucket) for the past year and half and was thinking of trying something new. My tank is mainly SPS dominant with frags to small colonies of Acropora. I was talking to the staff at World Wide Corals and they swear by Brightwell Neomarine...

Red Sea Salt mixing 6.4 KH

My Red Sea Coral Pro salt is mixing super low. I've been using the same bucket for years and never have checked until now because I am trying LPS. I have been dosing with b-ionic to maintain my alk, but weekly water changes with such a low alk refreshment make that hard. I use distilled water...

    Red Sea Salt

why can't I find any reviews on red sea salt. all I can find is red sea salt pro. does anyone on here use it? I just got some because my alk is to high for my system and I don't like doing a water change and it bring it back up. i'd rather keep it low at like 7-8 and not at 12.
