It took me a while before I realized that a hammer couldn't solve my problem with the controller. So, I read as many directions as I could find and decidedly came to the same conclusion you have. To be honest, the frickin thing should be touchscreen, because THATS what I always caught myself trying to do. Also the keypad itself should be backlit at the very least so I didn't have to fumble with it while being blinded by the light itself just my .02

Mine is something like:
12:00- 5/5
14:00- 35/20
16:00- 60/35
20:00- 60/35
22:00- 35/20
24:00- 0/0

So my lights shut off about 23:50 or 23:55 I can't remember.... and I am usually asleep.

You can set the cut off times like this:
7:59pm 5%
8:00pm 0%

So I am trying to use the 2nd output of our Kessil controller to control an H80 Refugium light. I'd rather have it turn on / off without ramping. I suppose I could use your work around to accomplish the same, right? Thanks for the idea.

I would assume so. Just set the times like this possibly?
8:00am 0%
8:01am 100% (or whatever your level would be)
8:00pm 100%
8:01pm 0%

I believe that would work.
