So I made a bit of a mistake! I needed a circulation fan for my tank, and I guessed the gph wrong. I got a 798 gph circulation fan, and my poor tank looks like a whirlpool! I do not have it going (obviously!). Which changed size, or however it's categorized, do I need? Would a 500-540 be more appropriate for a 10 gallon tank?

Just a link or pic of the pump you using is enough.

Here a few commonly used powerheads,

Ya so I just take the pump and face it up to try and get more air in the water to raise the pH. It still adds good water movement but doesn't blast the sand.

Okay, perfect! Really glad I didn't order that 500 gph one lol
