So here I am my frag tank
20170115_101947.jpg
currently removing all corals and fish dipping in peroxide and moving to a new smaller frag tank.

How would you go about killing these things without draining the tank and starting over? White vinegar or bleach dosing for a few weeks?

Just started bleach last night after cleaning the tank as best I could.

All aussie bleach has sodium hydroxide in it. So what I'm actually dosing is Sodium Hypochlorite.

Dosed 5ml of 4% in about 60 gal last night and this morning, fish made no reactions, zoas opened more, sps retracted polyps but then put polyps out further than before dosing.

Will let you all know how I go. Tank is full blown sps. Dino's are osti's which are attaching and killing all my sps

Ostreopsis Ovata... I've been dealing with this bas6666 since mid 2016... It killed many of my acros and costed me thousands of dollars. Could someone please tell me how to get rid of them? I've exhausted my options... blackout, peroxide, low nutrients, high nutrients... They just wont go away.

As I see it there are three options left.

1) Try vibrant. Theres another thread on this forum covering it.

2) restart system.

3) Bleach dosing.

If you opt with 1 or 3 id get all sand out as Dino cysts remain dormant in sandbeds.

If you opt with 2, my advice fully start over don't reintroduce anything.

Option 4 qt all corals in sandless tank with bleach then into new system.

Makes me wonder whether bleach should be used as part of a coral dip....

Has anyone tried dosing metro concurrent with vibrant? I'm at 2.5 months of dosing vibrant 2x week with no major improvement.

Merry Christmas Todd! I have been gone as well and thought I'd check in. Wow!

Dino's can be beat everyone! Persevere! Bleach took mine out and then I had a cyano from H#ll!

No sooner than getting the tank back into top shape, I had a very unexpected medical situation arise! December 7th I had brain surgery for a tumor on a major vein in the cerebellum. I'm recovering now and we're working on getting my heart squared away:0) I cannot wait until I get back to reefkeeping and selling my corals! The 180g is going an sustaining so I'm happy with that:0)

I'll try to stop in more often and help whenever I can. Merry Christmas to all!!!
Hi Terri any updates? Have you noticed a slowing in coral growth?
