Do Gobbies digest diatoms?

Hi my friends.I got a little gobby today to cleand the sandbed that is covered with diatoms.I wa s wondering if he can digest diatoms or just he can digest the creatures found under the sandbed?

I think my <== sleeper goby just spreads them around! I don't think they digest them as they don't get filtered out of the water, but that's just my guess.

Not sure on the diatoms question. They do eat critters found in the SB.
