Hello, long story short - i have a magenta dottyback which survived heavy ich and has been living in my tank for 1 year. I want to add few other fish, the thing that is bothering me that he will become aggressive towards new arrivals?

I have few other inverts
-peppermint shrimp(dotty is occasionally bumping in to him to scare him back to his spot)
- 4 hermit crabs(also dotty is occasionally nipping them)

My tank:
80g with sump
sps/lps
parameters are ok.

So could anyone please help me on deciding what fish can i put in? :)

There may be some initial aggression, but getting fish that spend more time out in the open rather than spending the bulk of their time in the rockwork.

Fairy and flasher wrasses, anthias, green chromis, fang blennies in the genus Meiacanthus, are all options.

It would be easier to rehome the dotty or give it a nano of its own, opening up more options for the tank.

I put in my clown, then a dottyback, then a 6 line and everyone gets along so well.
I think order is just as important as finding matching aggression levels. Ie, dont put a firefish in there with an established dottyback lol
