Hey guys,

Any tips for draining the last 1" of water from an aquarium below the bulkhead level?

My QT currently is setup as in the attached picture and would like to know if there is any mod I could do to drain the remaining water out...

(I don't want to manually siphon)

TIA.

Make a "U" out of two street elbows and use a piece of PVC to get just a hair above the bottom of the tank. You won't get every drop, but you'll get most of it.

EDIT: If you already drained the tank, this won't work. You could just unscrew the bulkhead and let it drain into a bucket.

I tried with the elbows as mentioned and it didn't work.
I Teflon taped the pvc entering the bulkhead to create a seal....could this be the reason it failed?

If you didn't get a good seal, it won't work. How much water are we talking about? I sponge and a bucket work pretty quick even for 5-10 gallons.

A few minutes with a shop vac should do the trick.
