I've tried a couple of different company's nori, like from OMEAG ONE and our fish will not eat it. I bought some a week ago at a LFS, that he gave me a few sheets that they buy at a local "Asian Food Market" and they ate it, so I bought some at the same market today and again, the ate this nori.

Why ?......lol
Does it smell or taste different than what their used, to depending on what region they were from ?

I noticed this store's nori says,

"Roasted Seaweed"
Family type
Yakinori

You would think that the fish food companys would have the same, but maybe it's the seaweed that wash on top of the boat docks, making it easy and cheap to shovel up and bag up.

Yes, it is a lot cheaper as well. Since we were there, we bought some clams and squid to cut up into cubes and freeze in silicone small cube size ice cube trays. Hoping it will work great in freezing food without freezerburn ?

The nori you buy from the Asian market may be flavored with salt, msg, or other flavorings.
I doubt the seaweek you buy from the LFS has any flavorings.

The price that O1 charges for those little packages is a crime!! Good ol sheets of Nori from the Asian section of Safeway makes em happy! Just make sure no additives like sesame oil etc...you'll be fine.

We did see in the Asian store, did,.....have flavors and possible other products added.
The package we bought does not say anythings added.

Two of the LFS stores owners have used this exact brand and package of nori for years, with no reported issues.

The only scarry information says this,....

Warning:
This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive farms.

But Ca. is very tough on any products.

Again, these two stores and customers have used it for years.

One thing about foods. We had bought a small Clown Trigger fish, and the day after I fed him a cleaned fresh scallop from a fresh seafood store,...... he died. (not a Asain market)

Was it a coincidence or bad food. Hum,.....?

Nori has levels of inorganic arsenic in it. Don't worry about the label. Feed away.

This is just California being California. We can discuss the merits of Prop 65 in another thread.
