Has anybody made or attempted to make an eel cave? I saw a post the other day about use glass bottles in a reef tank and got me thinking about using a large glass bottle or decanter for my zebra moray eel.
Has anyone done anything similar or got any ideas for an eel cave?

Personally, I would not use a glass jar. Eels like an entrance and exit path way. Could you use some PVC pipe? Not sure how big your tank is or how big the fish is, but 1.5 inch pipe should be plenty big.. Use some 90 degree fittings. You could always spray paint the pipe if you do not like the white color, but over time stuff would grow on it and not look so bad.

Cheers for the reply. Tank is 5x2.5x2.5 I may try a few bits of pipe and glue some corals to it maybe.
Thanks

Just make a bunch of rock caves. The fish will find or make one he likes. They will never go where you want them to go, lol. My eel just dug out under his favorite rock and he sticks his head out of all the sides.
