Hi guys help here

I have a fish only 1000 gallon that I want to keep without snails in case I need to medicate, which fish should I get to eat the pellets that fall to the sand take into consideration that it's a lot of sand and no rocks (coral insert)...

Thx

I am not an expert at stuff like this but I will try :D
Maybe a diamond goby for a golden headed sleeper goby
What other fish do you have in the tank?

I thought about those but it's hard to keep more than one without them fighting and they usually don't go for pellets that way...

What I need is the comparable of a nassarius in fish form...

My pink spot goby keeps my sand clean of pellets, how about a harem of gobys, would one male be ok with a bunch of females? Mine also eats right from the turkey baster. A bunch of shrimp, peppermint or even pistol shrimp are quite the little scavengers but able to hide or defend themselves, or just hermits. Unless you plan on a bunch of wrasse or predator fish that eat cuc. Cucumbers will eat leftovers...... Ok that's all I've got

Tangs, butterflies, most angels, and many wrasses will continue to eat pellets, even once on the sand.

Diamond gobies will eat them as well. An 1000g tank will be able to house 4-6 prs. The pellets will likely only end up in the territory of one pr.

Having the pellets go into an area of high flow will keep them in suspension longer.

There shouldn't be too many pellets landing on the sand. If it is, than cut down on how many pellets are fed at a time.

A lot of gobies and wrasses will help keep sandbed clean and stirred up. Most fish will eat off the sandbed. With a tank that size,I hope you are QT'ing your fish first. to avoid a DISASTER!!!

I have no experience with the species but know someone with a bicolour goat fish and it might be an interesting addition that would do the job.
Sleeper banded gobies might be another good choice.

Engineer gobys will eat those pellets posthaste.

Plus a bunch would be sweet in a 1000 gallon.

What about a ray? Is there one that will eat the pellets readily?

Do you have a build thread on the 1000g? I'd love to see it.

Rays aren't a good choice for a community setup. They need pristine water, can be difficult to get started feeding, and often get picked on by grazing tankmates.
