Shout out to Ocean Revive for some beautiful lights.

I started out as a DIY LED guy.

Time is at a premium these days, and it felt like time to go looking for a good priced LED that is proven to grow coral.

The Ocean Revive's pop up on all kinds of successful tanks. Probably the most impactful tank I ran across with these was Danik's tank. If you had a chance to see it, one of the best of the best.

So finally I was able to pull the trigger.

This is a picture of 2 OR over an 8' frag tank (6' used area). They are complemented with two blue T5s, and mounted into a T5 6 bulb fixture (4 bulbs and reflectors removed).

It looks beautiful, hopefully the coral like it as much as I do...

I don't know when he switched, but he did switch out the halides at some point. It was early on, right when OR first came out with lights.

In fact two of them he mentioned were from the beta release of Ocean Revive. So we are talking years ago I guess.

This tank had I believe 4 over the top of it. No metal halides or other lighting if I remember right.

It was quite compelling.

Check out @stylaster for another example on this board. He runs them over frag tanks and one over his 5' cube with radions over his main tank. It's stunning as well and he lives 10 minutes from me.

My personal goal is to emulate local successful reefers. Emphasis on local, people that you can go and see their tank, talk to them etc.

If I can achieve these results, will post back :) Of course there is more to a tank than lighting, but it sure is important too!
