Well after learning so much from having been a part of R2R and a local Reefing club I have finally decided to take on a full SPS 75 gallon rimless tank. So far for my equipment goes. I have a WM 161 skimmer (Skimz 161), a ecosystem sump 36x15.5x18, a dc12000 pump, a brs dual reactor, 2 drews dosers and 2 mp40's. Then I am using my Neptune Apex with 2 eb8 and 1 eb4 to control everything. I just started the build on my stand. Still need to make the doors. For lighting I'm thinking of 6 or 8 bulb ATI fixture. As my tank dimensions are 48x18x20.

Well finally had some time today to work on stand. I went ahead and painted the inside.
After started all the cable and equipment mounting. So far so good.. I'm liking not having the rats next of cable in my stand. Here a few pics as I was tugging along on this project

Still have to touch up some paint and as you see with the above pics I also installed fans to move some air in there. I mounted a led bulb for my fuge and also installed my mp40's. I am using cork under the sump and under the tank.

Here I have the removable deco frame in place. I need to cut out the doors and install them.

I, too, am interested in the benefits of going without a sand bed. I've seen some beautiful mixed reef tanks without sand. Does anyone have thoughts on the pros and cons of going without live sand?

Okay turns out a have 3 bubbles in the front glass of my tank. I'm not every happy about it. Deep Blue professional is really lacking in customer service. They have been giving me a run around on getting it replaced.
