Wow u have some sand dunes in there

Yeah, the gyre caused that. I'm going to try and smooth them out some tonight.

Looking good Meredith. I think the aquascape turned out great!

Thanks!! I'm liking it more and more. Just a few more tweeks and it's done!
Looks nice! Is there a reason for the sand that way? Just curious.

Is that single gyre enough for whole tank movement? Or do you have more I missed?

Yeah, the Gyre caused the sand dunes. It's the XF250 so it's got some serious punch. I only have it set at 50% right now as well and the flow reaches all the way to the other end of the tank. I was pretty surprised by that. I do have an MP40 that I need to move over as well though, so there will be lots of flow in this tank.

Phrase for the day "kinda janky" LOL Spell check turned off?

Looks awesome. Also looks like you need some more rock for more corals.

Well, actually no. I tend to say things like "janky" which would be my word for "not quite right" or "stupid looking". LOL Just a peak inside my head and personality ;)

I have lots of rock, but I don't want to use it since a good portion of it has aptasia. I even found a big one on a rock that's already in there! jeeze. Anyway! That will be superglued shut in just a few moments. :)

There... that's better right? All the fish are out and about exploring their new home, the lights are working properly and the apex has been programmed to accept the new third light.

Looks Amazing!!!!

I agree with brew, looks amazing!

No, I agree with you. I looks Amazing!!! :p

You guys are so funny! Thanks, it certainly looks better with some life and light in it. I gotta get that one aptasia I saw (it was a MONSTER) otherwise I wont sleep tonight, but I'm pretty happy with it right now. OH!! I just realized I gotta get the ATO hooked up too! Shoot... more to do before bed.

Sleep is so over rated!!! Well, unless it is me that gets to do the sleeping, then it is wonderful! ;)

What a beautiful tank! Great job Meredith.

So happy you finally got it up and going! It looks amazing

Thanks yall! I was going to put it off a bit longer, but decided that if a guy who works on the other side of the planet from where he lives can go home and set up his upgrade then fly back across the world for work again, then I can certainly finish mine off. lol

Still on the to-do list:

Water change station needs painting and plumbing
RODI needs to be moved to fish room and all new filters put in
cabinets installed
Electrical cabinet to keep all the wires manageable
all my other junk gotten rid of or organized!! (yeah right)

Do the Leopard wrasse need sand?

Yes they do. They bury at night and when scared and will not do well in a tank with coarse gravel or crushed coral. Mine buried almost right away when going into the new tank, but she came out after an hour or so to satisfy her curiosity. ;) They all seem pretty confused about all the space

So sand is a must?

Yes... they just won't do well without it. They are already a delicate species and not for the average reefer. Sand is absolutely needed for these guys.

Does the tank have to have sand everywhere or would one side be fine?

As long as they have about 2 inches or more to bury in, that should be enough.... though I'm not sure how you would manage to have sand on only one side of the tank? What's the plan there? I'm super curious now
