This looks like a fun build, tagging along. The RODI overflow - yeah I was lucky the MANY times I did it - always a harmless area. Now I finally have a proper RODI/mixing station set up with a float valve cut off when the RODI tank is full. Oh AND an emergency overflow drain a little higher than the float valve, just in case.
Stealing this one lol thanks

I got the replacement pump for the mixing station. I'll be putting it together tomorrow and testing it. Wish me luck! This is... well, I forget the name of the pump, but it's a well-known brand. It's used, obviously and was FREE! Yay! Hopefully it works... I don't want to start it dry. Tom....my manager at the store- and savior- says that it works still but has been sitting in storage for a while.

Little giant is it 3 or a 4?

Not a clue. Tom didn't remember either, but new it wasn't anything crazy like 3000 gph or anything. I told him as long as it was over 750 it would be fine for my uses and he was sure it was stronger than that.

^^ totally useful right? ;)

There you go, 1300 GPH I sure hope you're happy with that! :p The newer model is rated for 1200 GPH so either way you're good

OH wow! thanks for the info. I had started a search last night before bed, but hadn't gotten very far on it. I think 1200 gph will mix my saltwater just fine and it should get it up and to the tank without any problems. :D Now just to go take it apart for some cleaning then hook it up and see if it works.

I haven't been following for a couple weeks and just caught up! Your tank looks fantastic! Your videos really show how large the 180 is. Sorry to hear about your overflow. Hope not too much was damaged. I am learning so much by folowing your tank build and all the knowledgeble input from al the R2R members! What a great comfort knowing you all are just a few key strokes away! Melypr1985, you are so detailed in explaing what you are doing and what worked and what didn't. Thank you! This thread has been so helpful to plan for my future build in a new home later this year!

Thanks for following along. I'm not afraid to say when I messed up simply because it will help somebody else not make that mistake. I'm glad it's helped you as well. I never got around to hooking up the new pump today, so that will have to happen at some point this weekend. Stay tuned to see if it starts up! ;)

It is best to do coral for 76 days to be on the safe side. The nice thing is that the time doesn't reset when you add new pieces to your QT. Each piece gets its own individual clock.

Got this acanthophyllia at a frag swap today.

I also picked up some Utter Chaos and a little red mushroom :)

On a side/sad note, I've got the dinos in the big tank now. I really gotta get the mixing station up and running tomorrow so I can do some water changes and siphon out the dinos. :( new tank syndrome stinks.

I hope water changes take care of your dinos....and I'm sad to tell you this but there is a rare possibility you will be able to get every cell...

Oh, I'm well aware how bad these can be. The first step is manual removal, carbon (lots) and a good water change or two. The mixing station should be up and running tomorrow and I'll be doing that manual removal as well. Oh, and I have to put in a call to Rapid LED since my middle light is no longer working. And it's the new one!

I wish you well and hope for the best for your tank....twilliard is doing research on bleach dosing for dinos, I can attest because I have been doing it for the last 3 days.

Yup. Nope. Not doing bleach... that freaks me out too much. I trust Todd, but I would have too much anxiety about putting bleach in my tank, especially since my math skills are always on the fritz.
