Busted new light and dinos. Boo. Lots of work to do tomorrow. The rapidled guys are pretty awesome so I'm sure they will have a fix for me.

Right! I figure it's just "growing pains"... you know... growing from a 75 into a 180. lol Then there's Karma, ah well.

OR just some good, old fashioned bad luck haha. We all run into it with these tanks, maybe the 180 sized tanks are cursed? Lol

I did a lot today. Whew! I got the new pump plumbed into the mixing station and lots of water made. I haven't plugged the pump in yet because I want the pvc glue to have time to fully cure. I also remembered to turn off the water to the RODI machine just a few minutes ago so no floods! LOL

Next I called RapidLED where Mike ( who knows me and my lack of lighting knowledge well) helped me out and we have an experiment set up to see if the power supply is going bad, or if it's the light itself going bad. It's still under warranty so it will be covered. Not to mention Mike is the MAN and would probably help me out no matter what. They have superior customer service there. So, I'll know more by wednesday on that. For now it's working, but we shall see.

Last, I got a clean filter sock, clipped it to the inside of the sump and siphoned out most of the dinos that I could reach. Remember, it's a 2 ft deep tank that is 2 ft away from me to siphon out the front of the tank. Easy peasy right? I know i know, I set myself up for this, but I did ok. So I ran the water I pulled out through the sock in the sump and took out about a pound of sand and dinos. Then I got some carbon and phosphate media I had sitting around and put that in the sump to help out. I'll be doing a water change (i hope, I really really hope) as soon as the pvc glue has cured and I can start mixing water.

PS. Here are the Utter Chaos I got from a buddy at the frag swap last night. 4 heads, 2 babies $20 Sweeeet

Any updates?
Are your floors dry? [emoji6]

Ha! Yes... the rug had to be taken out and cleaned/dried but no lasting damage to anything in the house. I got the water mixing station up and running with the new pump and it works awesome! I haven't had time to do a water change just yet, but I plan to on Monday. The dinos have slowed down so I think another water change and siphoning of that will set me up for success on that front. When I get our taxes back, I'm hoping to get the cabinets I need to finish off the room so I can start getting fish!!

Picture update! I siphoned out more of the dinos. They are less than they were the first time so that's good. The water change station worked like a charm! My only problem was that the hose I'm using was coiled too small which put semi permanent kinks in the tubing which is really annoying. These pictures are from after the water change.

This duncan is coming back nicely. It was bigger than this and died off to just a few heads. Now it's coming back.

Not the best picture, but this is the first time he's ever let me get close enough to even take a picture! I have a few of them for you.

I would love for my blue star leopard to stay female. But she keeps fighting against her reflection so I'm thinking that's a lost hope.

Video update! It's SUPER blue, but I think we can all understand and look past that. :) This is about 30 minutes before lights out.

Looks great Meredith! I was at LFS in SPB and one of the guys gave me a couple 2"x 2" pieces of yellow tinted plastic film to hold over the camera lens to tone down the blue but still keep the vibrant colors. Worked like a charm if you are looking to tone down the blue. I have had great success just using my iPhone and the yellow film.
