Just wondering when your Mimic Tangs changed to full adult colouration?

Mines taking his time about it, he is nearly 7 inches and still baby mimic yellow.

It can vary between specimens. I've seen 3" ones begin to change colors and 6" ones still in juvie colors. At 7" I would expect it too begin soon.

He started to change a year ago, but it stopped at what you see above. Think his head markings are quite close, slight darkening on his fins. He is determined to stay young and typically I love these Tangs for adult colouration. Lol

What is his/her name?

- Zhenya

she/he is very pretty thank you, probably sounds really boring but I don't name my fish, this Tang is one of three. Also have a Powder Blue and and Desjardini, love Tangs they are beautiful and useful.

I absolutely agree with you about tangs!
Think about the idea to give names to fish, maybe you will like it ;)

I have a 3" in qt that already has the orange markings behind the fins. When you have other dominant tangs in the tank it can take a while for them to change, some have reported them never changing. I have heard them changing at 3" almost immediately when they go into their 1st aquarium as the only tang.
