Rocks, sand, and Siporax have been cycled since August 2016 so I should be able to add fish and corals immediately!

I removed the black foam that goes in the sump baffle and replaced it with more Siporax media!

Great Idea, I am going to steal it! What size Siporax did you use? Also are you able to tell me if I can add Siporax to an established tank? It will get seeded naturally wont it?

I put the smaller size (15mm) inside the large ones (25mm) and wrapped them in plastic gutter guard that I got at Lowes! Yes you can add them to an established tank with no ill effects!

Awesome! Where did you get Siporax from? Having hard time finding on-line.

Are you thinking of adding an Algae Scrubber? I just started the HOG.5 on my 170 (fits perfect), I will keep you informed on how it works!

Cool, let me know how you like the HOG.5. I probably won't add anything else, except for upgrading the skimmer down the road to a Deltec SC1351. I'm also thinking about converting the ATO section in a fuge but we'll see.

I removed the MH on the Giesemann Spectra and will be replacing it with a Gen4 Radion XR30 Pro

Yes!! Temp would get to 83-84 degrees with all bulbs on. I've also seen a ton of nice SPS tanks in my local fish stores powered by Radions alone (e.g., WWC, TSA, LRO)

Awesome! Looking forward to watching this develop..really cool idea with the spectra light conversion.

Question on the siporax reactor- have you used this media before? Could you tell me the benefits and why you use them?

So pleased with my artfully acrylic clearview lid! This tank will house several jumpers including:

Tailspot Blenny
Yellow coris wrasse
Melanarus wrasse
Helfrichi firefish
Flame wrasse pair
Clownfish pair
Borbonius anthias

Nice, how much did it cost you to get that lid?
