My Strawberry Shortcake Colony under the Kessils. Frags from this colony under the GHL Mitras LX7206 look completely different.

I hadn't check your build in a while, everything is looking great! I'm still hoping to get a tour of everything if/when I make it out to Simi.

Did you end up selling the 3rd goldflake angel? I just saw them for the first time in another thread here and now I want one! lol

Is the frame for the fire tablet 3d printed? Love seeing 3d printed stuff being used and coming up with new ideas for me to print.

You're welcome to come by anytime! I lost the smallest of the 3 goldflakes. The tablet mount is 3d printed but they can be purchased from aquariumledmounts.com

My new GHL Mitras LX7's arrived today! Woohoo!!! They are beautiful!!!!! I see a big lighting upgrade in my immediate future. I am very excited! I got my brackets made for my light rack and my articulating mounts for the Mitras. I will start planning my lighting upgrade this weekend. We will be filming the install and setup for an LA Fish Guys Episode. Stay tuned!

Been a busy day getting the new Mitras ready for the upgrade.. First was to install my articulating mounts so I can hang them from my light rack and aim them where needed. That will allow me to maximize coverage, minimize shadowing and reduce light on the viewing panes. Then the next item of business was getting them all set for master (one) and slave (5) via GCC. I then connected them to my Wifi network and then finally the MyGHL I also did a cursory program on the master unit which the 5 slaves automatically follow. I need to work on the light channel programming some more but I wanted to get something programmed so I can do some playing/testing.

Mounts installed.

And the science project! Basic programming done and just about ready to hang on the light rack!

How are things going?
Quite well actually. I spent some time this weekend working on the light project getting some preliminary settings and preparing the mounts. I actually hung two fixtures over the main display yesterday so I could do some further testing before I put all of them up there. I wanted to make sure I got the color as close to my current lighting as possible in an effort to prevent shocking my corals as a result of the lighting upgrade. I also got a Seneye monitor to check the Kelvin but that proved pretty much worthless. It displays a "No Kelvin" message due to the high kelvin range of my lighting. The only way to get a Kelvin reading out of the Seneye is to use an orange gel filter which kind of defeats the purpose. Granted, I can adjust them to match the Kessils if I test both using the gel filter on the Seneye meter. Anyhow, I should have the lights up in the next handful of days.

My mind is blown reading through and watching all the videos! I am so grateful for the experience you've amassed over 20 years and that you are sharing it with us. You definitely should consult on tanks if you don't already. I know I will be borrowing a few of your ideas. Absolutely gorgeous ! Thank you sir!

Scott is this Garf Bonsai? Those colors are absolutely amazing!
Yes, that is a Garf Bonsai. It's amazing what the top down pictures look like vs pictures shot thorough the viewing panes. When the light is directly above and the photos are shot from directly above, the colors are stunning. I am really looking forward to completing the Mitras LX7206 install as they do wonders for the coral coloration and I can't wait to see this tank under them.

That's one of my favorite corals, one of the best pics of it I've seen. Definitely can't wait to see how it all looks under the Mitras lights, hard to imagine your coral looking better than those pics though!
