Its an RO DC 5500; the thing is if i want to replace the impeller, that 3 year old model is no longer in production grrr a $300 X 2 gone

I'll be dismantling this afternoon to see how are the impeller but i had cleaned them before storage. The $$$ must flow it seems, if i have to buy new pumps, i'll buy the replacement impeller also.

Some times it will take a few days in order for used pumps to run normal again.
I always drop them in a bucket of vinegar and let it soak for a day or two and run them in a trashcan for a week or so.
Most pumps should run normal after this.
If you have it already installed just let it to be.

That worked for me. I had an old protien skimmer that was cracked so I threw everything away and kept the pump. There wasn't a use for the pump at the time so it sat for a good 6 months. A couple weeks ago l plugged it in and the impeller was making an awful grinding noise. I threw it in a container of vinegar and let it soak for a day. Sure enough, the noise went away after a couple days.

Spit in the bushings and on the impeller assy and shaft.
Or buy a reef safe lube.

Wow thanks for all your response, will do your suggestions. After cleaning it it seem to do less humming ; the pinch is lower and not as pronounced .
