Hi all.

Bought my own aquarium (29g FW) when I was in third grade. I think I can count on my hand the number of years I haven't had a tank set up :) I've kept SW tanks for the past 8-9 years.

Currently I have:
- 40 breeder mixed reef tank with a 30 breeder sump on a DIY 3 tier stand
- Fluval Spec III SW invert reef
- 20 long FW tank

I've been an active member at Nano-reef.com pretty much exclusively since joining the hobby but I've decided I would like to broaden my horizons a bit and hopefully participate in some more advanced topics in addition to helping new hobbyists nurture their fascination with this hobby.

My reef related interests are:
- DIY. I reef on a budget but I also enjoy the process of designing, prototyping, and building things.
- Reef design. Textures, colors, negative space, composition & layout, lines, etc..
- Basic biological principles. Nitrogen cycle, cell division, taxonomy, interactions between organisms, etc...
- Maintaining a healthy reef

Outside of reefing I work in finance, have 2 young daughters, and my favorite thing to do is mountain bike. Recently went on a bike trip to Moab, UT and it was great.
