I want to set something up like this as well. How often are you changing out 1 gallon of water?

I would definitely set up one since you have a fish room with drain and water supply. I'm currently doing 2 gallons per day. Once I get corals back in the tank and my Biopellets back online, I will switch to 1 gallon per day.

Finally got around to cleaning my Reef Octopus neck cleaner. Anyone know if the motor can be removed from the lid to make cleaning easier. It would be much easier if I could just throw everything in a 5 gallon bucket to let is soak and just rinse it off. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I already threw away my box and instructions.

Pretty sure it can't, at least I never could figure out how to take them apart. I found a bucket similar to the size of my skimmer and just put the whole thing in so the top was still out of the water.

Thank you! That's a great idea!

I just read through your build thread, simply fantastic! The updates and the progression were great to see.

Your tank, equipment, micro fish room and attention to detail is amazing. Well done!

A few questions: where do you keep the skimmer overflow? Do you have a float switch on it to turn off the skimmer when full?
How do you fill your RODI top up resivour? I know you mentioned solinoid but is that the only mechanism? Do you also use a float connected to the apex? What about a mechanical float?

Again, amazing build! Thanks for sharing.
