Hello,

It's my first post here. I have been reading post here for almost 1 year now and I started my 90g reef tank. I just purchased a red flame angel 2 weeks ago and its in my quarantine tank now. I have noticed that he has this white "worm' like spot near his gills. It's not an ich. He is not scratching on the rocks or sands. Looks to me like he injured himself around the gill area? that looks like some sort of white mucus? He had this for 4 days now. Its not cotton like more like a worm like? Here's the photos. Can you please help me identify as to what is this? Thank you

^+1. Better picture needed, but I'm thinking it's a Cirolandid isopod as well. Nasty little bugs. Does it look like a "pill bug"?

They usally attach close to the gill plates of their hosts. If there is one, there may be more.

if it is a isopod, you need to catch the flame at carefully remove the isopod. Leaving it there may do some serious damage to the fish or worst case, kill the fish.
