Just picked up these guys. Haven't seen them open yet. Just bought them off a local.

Paid about 75$ for all three. So about 25 per frag

Incase any one is wondering why I bought zoas without seeing them... I've bought from him before and he has great corals, I just asked him to throw a little assortment together.

I don't know, it would be nice if people didn't feel that way/pay that much for 1/4" or smaller polyps. If no one payed those exorbitant prices the vendors would be forced to charge a price that is more reasonable. I really can't think of any reason for a polyp to be $400+ when as a whole, most zoanthids and palythoas have similar care and grow out requirements. I get that some of the more outrageously colored polyps should get somewhat of a higher price but in my opinion, nothing justifies being able to buy some common eagle eyes for $1/polyp but having to pay $400 for a polyp that is still a zoanthid just like the eagle eyes.

Whole different Thread to say that on. But yes its the Collectors market Just like anything else in the world Prices are high then Drop Due to Over selling Ect. But its still a hobby and with Hobbys there is money involved for the best thing and the newest thing.

I meant to quote that first post in my initial post, I was on my phone and it must not have worked properly. I guess it could be the start of a new thread or a post in another one I just feel like you totally don't have to "pay to play" in order to get colorful, cartoon named zoanthids. I got a 12 polyp frag of Darth Mauls yesterday for $50, a little over $4 a polyp. I have collected in quite a few different markets or genres and I've always shopped around for the best deal rather than hopping on the first buy I see. Way more satisfying for me.

These are my most expensive, $10 a polyp. I guess if I came across some I couldn't live without I would probably pay up to $50 a polyp.

Not saying you always have to pay to Play. Trust me there are some Crazy Deals out there that some people catch faster then others. Its a hunt for the best. I always say the more you Search the more that will come to you. Cause if you sit and wait you'll never find anything.

Thats a Really Nice Zoa what colors are on that. i think you might have to Send me one of those! so i can super color it up under the Coral Haven tank:p

Lol! This is starting to become another show off thread... Love it!

This was my most expensive pick up from another reefer. Shazaams. Lasted a beautiful 1 week. :(

But probably my favorite and most adrenaline pumping moment in the hobby was when I picked up these guys in a trade for ricordeas waaaay back then. They were my dream zoa at the time and I was just so stoked to have them. I've moved on to much more high end morphs, but come on! You all remember that one morph when you first started that was your "holy grail" and you were just stoked to have even though it wasn't expensive! LOL

Rather than getting together for the cause of cheaper corals, we should all get together and try to get cheaper gas prices. Sounds like a better cause to me LOL.

The markup on gas is tiny, its about volume. At 380,000,000 every day in the US alone that would be $3,800,000 at $0.01 per gallon profit every day plus the byproducts. I'm all for cheaper gas, don't get me wrong, but the profit margin is small.

Might be better for the greater good, I'm just selfish sometimes and I spend way more on coral than gas.

Most I have ever paid for a polyp is $10pp and that was a god of war. I bought a big polyp and the baby one was free and now I have eight in my tank.
