My second rainbow "showstopper". Darn phone pics. My first was a booger and died. Told myself I would never spend that much on a coral again. Iol

Here is a chalice from member jourdy taken from his forum here on r2r. This chalice looks insane!! If you haven't already, take a look at his setup. Simply amazing. I think he won TOTM just a few months ago

I am not trying to start anything here, I am just wanting to know what I am missing here, because clearly I must be.

So what we have are three links to Cornbreds Ebay page of the Rainbow Crush Chalice. The first one is a medium priced frag, the second one is a top $$$ frag as well as the third one. The first two corals have a lot of red in them, what you would expect to see in a Rainbow Crush Chalice, the third coral though, has very little red in it. Everything I have read says that if the coral has very little of a certain color ( in this case Red ) in the frag, it might, as it gets older get more of that color, but most likely not to the point of the first two corals.

So my question: If I were in the market for a Rainbow Crush Chalice coral, I would want one that looks like either of the first two corals, the third one, I would never entertain the idea of spending my money on. To me it almost looks more like a watermellon chalice. So, what am I missing, why so much for the third coral. Clearly its a larger coral, but color has everything to do with price with these Rainbow Chalices.

Like I said, not trying to start anything here, the man can sell his Awesome corals for whatever he wants, I just want to know the reasoning.

@ braves fan, the third its a big colony its not on a plug, its on a 2 1/2 inch plate. so that means you can have many frags from that.

Thats what I kinda thought also, but without the red color, just seems the price is a bit much for it, that is jmo though. I would spend that kind of money for the second one, when I win the lotto :)

talking about the rainbow chalices, i happen to have a few and i can say they are different for sure. the ones that i have that i can talk about are, rainbow crush, crazy clown, flaming bugatti, show stopper , rainbow flame thrower, orange crush, magixx and blow torch. i have seen the bpc flame thrower, the miami over heat and fuego and they are also different from the ones i have too. so im hoping to get those 3 soon :) . the atom bomb from what i can see looks different and this mentioned too. the dynamite and flash bomb, i would have to see in person or next to my collection to see if they are different too. rainbows are nice for sure but there are other chalices that are as nice of nicer too. one that comes to my mind is the miami heat which i had a nice piece and lost it in a tank crash :(
