Once again, the bug has bitten. It was never planned but being at the right place and time got things going. For a while now I've been considering an upgrade but the cost to do so was going to be expensive, that and on top of the tanks I already have set up. I acquired this tank through bartering which benefited both of us. As you can see below, it was in rough shape and will need some work done before it is ready to go.

This build will be following suit of my other tanks:
https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/reef-diaries-56g-reef-savvy.146831/

Few ideas and thoughts about the build. This will be connected to my existing cube thank that was put together for my girlfriend. Apex controlled with my current set up. DOS will be doing a water exchange between the two systems.

I do plan on having it drilled by myself and a friend, he will also be building me an overflow box similar to the ghost overflow by Reef Savvy. He will be building my sump as well.

Just looking at the top trim, it is on there for cosmetic reasons so it will be removed. This is going to be a "budget" build but I already know where that will lead to because of my mindset.

Equipment:
Tank: 84"x24"x24" Unknown builder
Overflow: Custom Bean Animal set up
Sump: Custom 79"x20"x15"
Lighting: 72" Aquactinics Constellation T5HO (10x39w T5 & 4 ReefBar LED Bars Retro Fit)
Return Pump: Jecod DCT-15000
Flow: Ecotech Vortech MP40QD x4
Skimmer: Bubble King Double Cone 250+ RD3 Speedy
Auto Top Off: Tunze 3155
Heater: Undecided
Supplement: BRS 1.1ml Doser w/ ME Coral 2-Part system. BRS 50ml Doser w/ ME Coral Kalkwasser. Custom 2-Part container to match sump. Optional Reef Octopus Calcium Reactor.

No longer going with:

Coral Box Cloud 9 Skimmer
Jebao RW-15 x2 controlled via Apex
Jebao DCT12000 Return Pump

Tank is 84" L x 24" W x 24" H and not drilled.

Sounds like this system is going to be awesome! Cant wait to see how you transform this tank!
Thanks, things are coming along.

Right now I am running the old Jebao DC12000s (main pump & back up unit) but will probably switch over to the DCT12000 so I'll have to pick up 3 new ones. There is a possibility of going with the DCT15000 for more flow but that means more power consumption and takes up space.

Picked up my lights, it used but perfect for what I was looking. This tank will be powered by T5s and LED supplements. Fixture will need to be opened up and reworked for the LEDs but overall it's in good condition. Came across this when I was talking to a friend, 72" Aquactinics Constellation 14 bulb T5s fixture.

36" x4 LED bar, they are all royal blues. I should have gotten the 30" version to get them in easier but will have to work with it now. Can't see much in the box but it's there.

CoralBox Cloud 9 Skimmer. This thing is a monster in size in person. Can't wait to set it up and test it out.

Took off the trim, it didn't serve much of a purpose besides hide the imperfections from cutting the glass. Did a little bit of cleaning as well and peeled the black vinyl background.

Time to break out the bleach and the vinegar! If any of your other builds are an indication, this one will be very nice!

This is where I just hit a brick wall. Bought a ton of stuff and can't get these stains out for the life of me.

Mr. Clean bar, vinegar, muriatic acid, steel wool, something has to be able to get it out.

Love peninsulas!!! I'm in!

That's weird. Maybe something with a little bit of an abrasive, like bar keeper's friend.

Here is a worth update for you guys. I made time to working on my Aquactinis Constellation fixture. A few notes, I didn't think the 36" LED bars were going to fit after looking at everything but after all said and done things fit perfectly!

Before:

LED bars as they came before I tore them apart:

End caps taken off and plastic shield removed.

Starting to take the fixture apart:

Removal or two channels (4 bulbs)

Cleaned out the fans while it was apart.

Test fitment of the bars:

Used 3M 5200 adhesive sealant to get the bars in place. Anyone who has used this stuff knows, once its dry it doesn't come off!

Final product!

Splash shield back on!

Dimmers taped into place for the time being. Each bar has 2 channels of LEDs, 2 dimmers per bar. For this I had to drill two additional holes in the fixture in order to get the cables through. The power supplies are massive, otherwise they would have gone inside the fixture but I can deal with them sitting on top of the fixture. It shouldn't be too ugly.

Great work you've done Erick. Everything looks clean. (This is Wayne from RVC).

Good luck with the build Eric. I know it will be awesome ! Following along :)

Thanks guys!

Picked up a bunch if nice rocks from a local, thanks @Jurg
Eventually I'll get around to aquascaping out of the water but first thing is to muriatic acid wash them.
