They are here too ;-). However since there are local Web sites that are very popular, r2r's Southern CA section is not very hot

On R2R we have no State lines, nor borders or walls.
The hobby is equal to all and we welcome all and everyone.
As mentioned Cal has a lot of reef forums that members bounce around in.
Can I say that R2R is always a step-a-head than any reef forum out there........ I think I can ;).

Most of the forums and clubs in ca I have seen are SoCal. I am NorCal. Oh well.

Do they like you less cause you're from the North?
I'm a member on Premier Reefs and I check in once a week and having a big party

I just don't see the point of joining a club I can't attend any of the events.

That's a valid point.
I do it for the support, as it will pay off in so many ways if you buy corals from the local members, or if there's a livesale and in some cases only supporting members can join.

I'm a California person, and yes reefing is active down here. I can't say I've specifically explored Northern California looking for LFS or clubs, but I know they sure are alive down here in Southern California. It seems to be a large industry in Orange County, so reefing is alive and striving in California. :)

I have found a few reefers on this site from Sacramento, Turlock and I'm from Modesto. We are I.M.O. very low on good local salt water fish stores. I think there is another club called Northern California Reefers but not a lot of traffic. You can't beat this site for information but do miss frag swaps and such.

From Sacramento here. I have noticed the same decline in Club forum activity, even on RC. Looking to get more involved myself, local reefers tend to be very helpful and have plenty of trading opportunities. Just got back in after 6 years off. Absolutely stoked.
