Yes- awesome info. I'm doing my plumbing this weekend. First time, I feel pretty handy myself, but I bet this will be a challenge. Luckily my sump matches pretty closely to my tank holes. I unfortunately had to buy new bulkheads but I pray they fit (BRS says they will)

Thank you for sharing your hiccups because I'm about to attempt pvc plumbing for the first time and it seems very daunting. Any tips?

As am I, so very timely ... and listening very closely!

Another mess up, felt over confident when glueing the pipe into the bulk head, well pipe didn't go all the way in. Had to trip the fitting, as you can see gone the pic one connection is thicker than the other. Don't rush things!

"Trip the fitting"?

That's a new and unfamiliar term . . .

~Bruce, who's worried (having never really plumbed before) about whether I'll have to replace all the parts for a given section if a fitting comes up with a leak . . .

Progress?

Already missing the lit up sump area. Going to have to get some strip lights or something.

I think the saying goes... one step forward, three steps backwards.

Brand new tank arriving tomorrow.

Really sucks that I blew so much of money on the used setup.

I'm so sorry about the leak! I think all the 180s are cursed ...mine has some defects and has to be replaced. Luckily the current tank hasn't started leaking, but definitely has some issues.
