Finally had some time to spend getting things together just waiting on some more plumbing.

Getting this to the opposite side has been a real PIA to get done clean.

Got all the Auto Water change lines and calcium reactor lines run and tucked to the dry side of the stand.

Do you think it's possible to change the return pipe and main drain pipe through the bottom of the reefer? I can't recall if it's the same size pipe/hole/fitting.
Do you think you'll need the Flapper valve? IMO they lead to false security and fail too often with crud buildup/calcification etc.

lol welcome to the club I lost track on the budget lol
Budget... ? o_O

Has anyone here tried hard plumping Aquamaxx reactors on the 250. All I see is 350 & 450 being done. I am considering installing reactors rather then using media bags.

There is 163 pages of information here. I would be very grateful if someone can point me in the right direction as to what fittings I will need to hard plumb aquamaxx reactors. I have the reefer 250 and M1 pump.

The ones that did broadfields return nozzle mod... what direction are you guys pointing it to get the flow towards the drain?

I have a mp40 and mp10 on the back wall running reef crest on anti sync on a reefer 250 if that helps. Currently have the nozzles pointed down and to the side of the tank. Been playing around with it all weekend

Well I only had my reefer 2 weeks and now there is crack inside the sump. The ATO top off section is flimsy and maybe the water weight put pressure on it so there is crack.
Emailed Red Sea.

Extremely disappointed at Red Sea . They wouldn't replace the sump for me. Said it was my fault . I never even moved the ATO reservoir . I believe it was the weight of the ATO that caused the crack !

In this video see 2:15 the customer admitted he was respsonsible for the crack and they still replaced it.

Been reading this thread for some time now. It's inspired me to upgrade from a SCA-50G cube to the RSR350. Tank has been up and running for a month now. Mostly LPS and softies right now.

Wanted to try out an Algae Turf Scrubber, when I got the chance to grab the @SantaMonica RAIN2 I jumped on it. I haven't got it installed on the tank just yet!

Currently there is 1 GEM5 light installed in the ATS. I do have all 4 lights and will install them as needed!

Test fitting the ATS in the sump of my Red Sea Reefer 250. Still not sure if I will install it here, but I wanted to see how well it would fit!

Be sure to always do your research when buying fish! I decided I wanted to try a Butterfly fish, the fish was beautiful no doubt. Shortly after introducing the fish into the tank I noticed that my zoa's were closed up. I knew the Butterfly was responsible, I wasn't worried about the zoa's as they are one of my least favorite corals. But when the Butterfly decided to start picking my my scoly and acan's it was time to go!

Luckily for me getting the rock out of the tank is simple. Since I used the Emarco 400 to bond my rock work together to make 2 large structures I removed both structures and trapped the Butterfly!

This seemed like a good time to flip the rocks around. I used to have the large structure on the left, I decided to put it on the right and see how it looked -

I have a Reefer Nano on its way and need to choose a return pump. I prefer a little less turnover in my sumps so I'd like to get something that is a bit less than the recommended 2000 l/h. Will the Reefer overflow function properly at lower flow rates?

Somewhere on the Red Sea site there's a guide for how much each size Reefer's flow should be through the overflow. I'll see if I can find it.

They recommend a return pump with a flow rate of 530 gph for the Reefer Nano. I guess that means at 0 feet head pressure, they don't say.

Thanks for looking it up! I think I am just going to go with the Eheim compact+ 2000.

Nice work! What are the two extra gate valves for?

I have one soft plumbed to my JBJ 1/4 Chiller in the other compartment and the other one may be for the refugium. Still debating if I want to use the CPR ITR currently in there, drill the ATO, or buy then baffle divider.

I am thinking about swapping my BRS reactor out for a more visually pleasing Aquamaxx, how are you all flushing your GFO/Carbon with the Aquamaxx reactors? Right now I have my BRS reactor running off my return pump and would follow that path with a new reactor, but since I am using soft tubing when I add new media I just turn the valve on and flush the media then do a water change.

Thanks!
