I know I sound like a broken record on this topic but most common pin cushion/tuxedo urchins will move that down, as will Chitons and Abalone. You can get the Urchins from ORA via LA as well at the Abalone. Reefclearners.org has Chitons.

I may have to give them a try!

I went on a clam kick, which is actually how I found you thread a few years ago. I have lost about 10 Maximas, all for "no reason." I say no reason because there has been no indication of what could have caused each one. I currently have a baby maxima in my nano, and it's doing really well, but I started with 2, both from ORA, and lost one almost immediately. I won't be doing clams again, but now I've said that, the little one will probably live forever. Oh, and all the clams I had prior were over 6" when I acquired them.

For your algae, along with manual removal and water changes, I suggest the turbo snails. They bulldozed my algae when I had a bad outbreak. I got 10 of them, and kept 3 on hand for my 180, they all lived until I gave them away when I broke down the tank.

Thanks I have a 4:30 tomorrow with my doc, not sure if I can make it that long though. May go to the ER.

Mine don't work that well, I actually crushed them off so they were badly broken so I had to wait about 4 weeks to begin physical therapy. Yeah there were a bunch of Tangs, I got rid of a few that I already had.

No clams but that will be changed!

Here's a pic of the finger I just took.

Hey, I just saw your tank thread today. I'm wondering how your tank is doing. I hope you got the algea beat. Both my sisters fought the hair algea thing and gave it up. One of my sisters set her tank up with the same sand bed you did. I was wondering on her tank if that might have been the problem. So I am betting it was.
Anyway I enjoyed reading your thread. You have a beautiful tank.

Don't wait taking care of the infection. I had a couple fingers cut off around 16 years ago. They work great. You can't tell except my pointer finger kind of points the wrong way. I see several tangs in there that are getting along fine, that's worth a lot right there. I guess one man's loss is another man's gain. I hope the tank move goes smoothly for you.
How'd you cut your finger off?

I pop in from time to time, I've moved on from this tank. I currently have an 80g lagoon
