Stevo's P4 Build

This is my Profulux 4 build thread. The P4 is installed on my Red Sea Reefer 525XL. This thread will cover my Profilux 4 installation, setup, programing, ect. I'll post pictures and links as I go, as well as post my questions for other GHL users/staff. Anyone here feel free to post anything you wish having to do with the P4.

EDITED for technical information on PB 5.1

Time to start working on programming the Powerbar 5.1 in GCC (GHL Control Center). I'm learning as I go here. This is my first reef controller. I'm trying to write this so someone else learning can use the links I post in the future for "quick guides" on the P4.

The POWERBAR 5.1 allows for 6 total plugs. This is 5 programmable sockets and 1 permanent socket.

(Permanent Socket) is an "always on" plug. Im plugging a small power strip into this socket. Take the P4 and plug it into this socket or power strip thats plugged into this socket. WILL UPDATE WITH PHOTO

(S1-S5) are programmable sockets. You can plugs strips or splitters into theses sockets, but remeber the function, and labels of the socket will be the same for everything plugged into that "S" socket. For example. We can run all the systems heaters off a single socket using a power strip or splitter. Or powerheads, pumps, lights,

Q:WHATS RUNNING ON THE POWERBAR?

Permanent Socket - A small power strip. On that powerstrip the P4, and HOB refugium pump (Rio400), is plugged in.
Socket 1 - I currently have my Return Pump (DTC-6000) plugged directly into this socket.
Socket 2 - I currently have my Skimmer (Reef Octo NT-150) directly plugged into this socket.
Socket 3 - A spiltter power cord. On that splitter two powerheads are plugged in. These are MP40 (left side) and MP40 (right side).
Socket 4 - A splitter power cord. On that splitter two 300w heaters.
Socket 5 - I currently have my sump LED directly plugged into this socket.

My DT light (ATI Powermodule Hybrid) is running off a separate wall outlet.

More programming....

FEED MODE #1:
I want MP40's, skimmer, return pump, and refugium pump to turn OFF for 10minutes. When the pumps come back online I want a 5-10 minutes delay on the skimmer pump.

MAINT MODE #1: I want to use this for routine cleanings on sump, skimmer, socks, probes, and anything else in the sump. I want a delay here as well for the skimmer. Think ill set it for 30-45 minutes.

POWER OUTAGE: I want my skimmer delayed here also.

Now onto the Programming Manual...:)

Looking good! I have my heaters set up on my PB and temp is now rock stable. I think that I have a messed up thermostat on one of my Eheims and was having wicked temperture switches - now much better. I'm running 2 heaters, fuge light, skimmer neck cleaner, and return.

Unfortunately I was just told that the additional PAB I ordered is backordered so I'll have to wait on my DT PAB.

I'm going to need a 2nd powerbar at some point :p

Ain't that the truth. I'm thinking of getting the Vortech controller now. I'm not sure if you can use that to program your feed modes but I'd be surprised if you couldn't. That would open up 2 switches for other things.

I leave my skimmer on for feed - my return pump as well - I guess it depends on the size of the tank and flow.

Hahaha, yeah I got it for a Christmas gift. my request was a magnetic 4 place holder. At that time I was undecided on what RC to use. It is kinda funny seeing it now though :)

Can I assign the heater to the (Permanent socket), and how do I control it with the temp probe?

Another thing you can do is get a multi outlet adapter and plug both of your MP40s into one outlet on your powerbar - that way one outlet on/off controls both of your powerheads.
