So i got a head of the seduction paly and when i got it its just a head that is super glued to the plug...not attached to live rock or matted to anything. just a single stock of paly in an armchair of superglue. So...does this thing have any chance at all to actually grow? i would assume the matting/spreading would be done at the base but with it being incased in glue im at a loss for understanding. how it will survive/grow? is there anything else i can do for the lil guy? hes been living in his cocoon for about two weeks now but just today dislodged from the glue chair and went for a swim around the tank. so i just re-glued him as i have no idea what else to do.

If his head is poking out - he'll probably be fine. Keep him out of the flow for a bit - and maybe a little less light for a while.

Idk how to help but had a new Zoa which I saw stuck to my tuxedo urchin for a while and then couldn't ever find it again. [emoji22]

Leave it alone for now.
Make sure you have a decent reef system with the requirements for them.
The less glue the better chances of the polyp to grab the plug.
It is a shame how people sell one poly plug for the $$$$!
They will reproduce ss time goes by...
Good luck!
Grandis.

Will it take longer to grow offspring = yes
why? because the mat has to grow up and over the glue.
When I frag mine, I make sure that I use enough to keep it in place but I also dont overdo it. As long as the "face"/polyp is getting light, it will grow. just a LOT slower due to having to grow up and out of the super glue.
