So I am new here and haven't ever really had the need to start a thread or ask a question....but as I was cleaning the tank today, I noticed this new growth coming from the rock. Any ideas what this is? If it needs to be removed? Thanks!

That is a fairly large (i'm going to guess aiptasia) one. A shrimp is doubtful to eat that one because of the size. Plus banking on the peppermint shrimp to show up and start devouring them is rare. Based on normal feeding they are not as likely to eat them. A little joes juice or other mixture and a syringe is your best bet. I have even had some luck with boiling water.

I think I'll be trying the boiling water as soon as I get back to the house! Thanks for the input!
