Another vote for the SWC 160 cone. Works great and very reasonably priced.

Most of us got our SWCs before that happened. That being said, my 180 is a great skimmer

Don't get me wrong, I am not questioning the functionality of the SWC skimmers, I have always heard good things about them, BUT, I would not even mention the name today even if I owned and loved the skimmer because I wouldn't want anyone else putting another cent into that crooks pockets.

Is this thread to determine the 10 best skimmers MADE, or 10 best we've ever had?
It looks like this thread is for fun, and if so I'm all in.

To add to this, I've owned the following brands:

i-Tech (100)
Warner Marine (AS 150, K2, H2, and soon to be MF 121)
Elos (PS 200)
Euro Reef (2x RS-80s)
Vertex (2x IN-100. one with standard pump. One with ATB Airstar)
Octopus (SRO 1000 and the HOB version)
Tunze (2x 9002, 9006)
Aqua C (Remora)
Bubble Magus (NAC-3, I think)
SWC (120...briefly)
Aquamedic (Turbofloater)

I'm sure there's more.. The only two brands I regularly recommend are i-Tech and Warner Marine. Great companies with even better products.

This took place back in 2007, so the excuse of having it for a year or so doesn't fly, this is 2012. He should have been run out of the business all together. I'm not a tree hugger but breaking the law is breaking the law.

I agree.. Plus, it really brings unnecessary bad press to this hobby that we really don't need. Especially now.

There are so many excellent skimmer brands that aren't SWC. It's not like there aren't any alternatives.
