Ha. It's doing pretty good. Eating like a pig. Luckily. Very stressful. Had it a few weeks now. It's no peppermint though. [emoji4]

Don't really have a price limit, but when the price is around $300 I pause and think for awhile. I don't think I would make it out of pause mode at $1000. Currently recovering from a total loss in my holding tank during a move which almost made me take a break.

They typically sell as Zebra Tang or Mauritius Convict Tang. Has a separate scientific designation, polyzona versus triostegus, though. Looks quite different to me.
Did you see they have a Mauritius zebra tang on DD right now?

One of my LFS has a Gem (2-3") for $2400. A bit over my $5 price. ;)
Just a bit. You could always do payments!

Do you like these? The black is cool.

It's like you read my mind. I actually just bought one for my tang tank - hoping all goes well. So many tangs at this point that I am sure it will but I have a plan B.

My favorite "black" tang though is the Achilles hands down!

I am also hoping that the presence of another similar acanthurus tang will distract my powder blue tang pair from killing each other. They're still together and seem to be improving but when they go back in to the display again I wonder...

Did you see that Mauritius Zebra tang photo I posted? The one where that person said if ever saw one they would buy it. Apparently, not true. It is pretty, silver and black.

Too expensive for me but it is cool nonetheless!

Not sure if by 'that person' you are referring to me? If so you failed to read what I actually wrote; if not .... never mind.

DD has had a few of these pop up in the last few months (maybe 5 or 6). The first one was priced at $900 and was sold in seconds; all subsequent specimens have been listed at $1,200. As I noted in my first post in this thread, 'the most I would pay for a fish depends a little on what it is. For example, a Tygerpyge Angel or Zebra Tang would be hard to resist at $500'. If the zebra you linked had been listed at $500 it would be gone ..... at $1,200, not so much.

It sold anyway, I was on liveaquaria.com recently and it is not there anymore.

which means they are going to continue to price them at $1,200; and I'm going to continue to pass.

I almost bought those original claires fairy wrasse trio that went to the Elos store here in NJ that were on Reef Builders. I know the owner and original asking price was 9k.
