Drilled a 45mm hole for a 1 inch bulkhead and I’m noticing only now that so many things cater to 1/2 in and 3/4 in bulkheads. I’m not a fan of the idea of using a reducer, could I just fit a 3/4 in bulkhead into the 45mm hole?
It’s my first post here and probably going to be looking for some advice in the future. I had this IM 20g Peninsula for about 4 years , it was set up on my bar top but I hated that I couldn’t see all 3 sides. I built this Tank stand last weekend and just put some shelves in it. It obviously...
So.....I drilled my tank, 2 over flows (only one in the photo) a centre return, but got trigger happy with the drill and added a 1/2 inch drainage bulkhead to make water changes easier! Which is the one at the bottom of the tank with strainer.
Im now a little worried that this was a bad idea...
Cracked a new 40 breeder Aqueon tank today while drilling for an overflow on the short side (peninsula style).
I’ve drilled 2 other tanks before and never had a problem, but never a 40G and never on the short side. Anyone run into any issues drilling Aqueon (bought this week at Petco) recently...
FYI this is my first post on R2R.
I just purchased a 60 Gallon Frameless Cube for half off at Petco over the weekend and I was just going to transfer everything in my 29 gallon over. Once I was home and thought about it I decided I would rather drill it if I can confirm it is not tempered...
While drilling my 90g to put in an overflow, the drilled kicked, I put too much pressure and this was the end result… Is it worth it to just replace the panel?
Great first post
Hello all!! I followed a few threads on this tank (sorry I don’t recall the OP) but I really liked it. So I decided to give it a try. This will be my first full build including the stand, sump and drilling the tank. Always looking for feed back and ideas so please share!
I currently have...
I’m looking to purchase a new tank at my LFS. They have a Seapora 75 I’m looking at for my next project. I am wondering if anyone has personally had one of these tanks drilled recently?
The tank has a tempered glass stamp on the bottom panel, but not the others. The larger tanks (the reef ready...
I recently purchased a 36-gallon Bowfront tank with the intent of establishing a reef. It has been a dream of mine for years now! After watching some videos I think that I will be able to drill it! Just have to call and confirm that the back is not tempered first.
My question is... what size...
So I am in the process or resealing a Aqueon 150 gallon reef ready aquarium with dual Dorso’s. My back panel is tempered so I can’t convert it to back drilled. Are dual dorso drains safe enough or should I drill the bottom of the tank to add an additional drain inside of each of the overflow boxes?
I decided to post my build of my multi-tank system designed to house and group corals in multiple displays sharing a common filtration system for ease of maintenance. The idea of having multiple tanks that I can separate the needs of specific groups of corals in separate systems appeals to me. I...
Don’t worry about my current setup, it needs a heavy update, everything is working fine but the power heads and return pump is leaking electricity so i bought an Ecotech Vectra S1 for my 75 gallon mixed reef, which should be sufficient running at 70-80 .
Eventually i will update sump and DT...
Hi R2Reefers,
I have an old Nuvo Fusion 20 AIO from a previous build, and want to add it to my current system as an external frag tank.
Has anyone drilled one of these before for an overflow?
Does the glass hold up?
Will it be fine to keep the acrylic baffle in place that makes it an AIO?
What...
I've recently purchased a 600x400x400 optiwhite nano tank and plan on drilling the tank myself.
I haven't ordered and plumbing or started drilling the tank so i thought i best check with someone more experienced than myself.
What is the best design / setup to run. I had ideally wanted to...
Hi y’all,
so where do I start. Basically staying home for covid got me restarting my ig and one of the first posts I saw was a friends puffer fish and let me tell you is was love at first sight. After that day no matter how long this lockdown takes I know I won’t be bored. Every day I would...
