Thanks! Now I have no clue how to get it out. It's at the back of my tank and behind a rock structure. Very hard to reach.

Rock is doweled and epoxied. I've added some peppermint shrimp. I'll probably have to take my canopy off, but even then it will be hard to get to the back as it's against a wall.

Careful with the peppermints, they are known to take a liking to LPS as well.

I had two

I had two in my tank and they were model citizens for over a year. Cleared out the few aptasia i had and behaved themselves. I added two beautiful multi-head acans and the next morning discovered the shrimp sitting in the middle of the corals, happily tearing out the centers and eating them. I eventually lost the acans and traded the shrimp at my LFS. Banned for life from my tank.
I rely on Aptasia X now if one of these little monsters rears it’s head.

I have a home made tool. I took a syringe from the feed store used a small piece of silicone airline tubing to connect a 2ft piece of ridged airline tubing. This made a pretty air tight connection. I sanded down the other end of the ridged tubing so I could glue the tip that comes with the Aptasia X. If ya dont have a straight shot you can bend the stuff by heating it with a creme brulee torch.

Joe's has one that uses a needle-less syringe. I've used it twice on my tank. Works instantly. You can use some air line or something on the end to reach it.

Of course, you could bring out the big guns! (Lol)

Not sure if that big gun works, I just got one of those last week, wifey thought it was cute. So anytime I have an excuse to buy something, I do. Anways

I have yet to see any more aiptasia since adding the shrimp, but I'm going to keep searching for it. The picture I posted was the only one I was able to find, but it disappeared the day after adding the shrimp.

As is often said, you may get a particular fish that is ‘supposed’ to do ‘XYZ’ but won’t/doesn’t, but I have no aptasia big or small in any of my tanks, thanks to my “Aptasia Eating Filefish” (LFS store name). These are my babies— in their 7 gallon Nano, for now. Lol.

I didn't write this but I hope it helps
- Peppermints (at least the type you want) are more red in coloration and have less WHITE. They're white should be more of a CLEAR coloring than an actual solid white. Camelback shrimp will have WHITE as opposed to the clear.
- Camelback shrimp usually have really odd, big eyes.
- Camelback shrimp look like they have a beak like a bird.
- Camelback shrimp have a more pointed tail. Peppermints have a tail similar to that of a Skunk Cleaner Shrimp.
- Peppermints have red or transparent red legs while Camelback shrimp have red and white stripes that continue from their body down to their legs.
