I do, i bought a 30 gallon clean up crew from liveaquaria about a month ago, nirate are less than 5ppm. Is there a good test kit out there for checking phosphate levels?

I forgot to ask how old the system is:rolleyes:

Hanna ultra low phosphorus checker is hands down the best. Sailfert works well too. I like the ELOS kits also but have not tried the phosphate test yet:)

Haha, its just rounding the bend on 2 1/2 months old, its a 24g nano, has two clownfish and 2 yellow fined damsels. I will have to take a peek at one of the tests. You think with time it will rid itself of it? Ive been doing weekly water changes of 4 gallons using reef crystals.

Part of the "new tank uglies" and it's a good sign. I used one of those flipper magnet glass cleaners. But the green stuff on the rocks will take care of itself.

Yep, that tank is still cycling and you are going into the ugly stage.

I have found that urchins may help with algae but pincushion and tuxedo do the best in my tank and if you get a tuxedo urchin it will also get rid of detritus in tanks
