Hello, I am getting some green algae / diatoms on my sandbed and some of my rock. If I shake a small rock that has the green growth on it, it will disappear. I will get my microscope out in the next couple days to confirm, but are diatoms green in color? I know they are typically brown, but was wondering if they appear green also...

Just thought I would quickly ask as I find my microscope

The green growth that disappears upon shaking is not a diatom but it is a micro algae.
