At what point is a tang considered aberrant?

I had a fellow reefer come by and tell me my tang was a little special. I've had the fish for a few years and never thought much of it. It does have a few different defined colors but doesn't look like the extreme aberrant tangs on google. So, what's considered aberrant and is my tang anything special (other than just to me)?

(also sorry for the dirty glass on the tank!!)

Just because it's not an extreme aberrant doesn't mean it's not an aberrant. This is definitely not "normal" colouration for a Scopas. I have one that is almost completely yellow.

"So, what's considered aberrant," you asked?
I looked up the dictionary definition and aberrant is basically "anything different."
I think that there is a different use of the term aberrant when discussing genetics, and ironcally the picture you provided looks like your Scopas-abberant has a partial Yellow Tang Siamese twin attached on the port ventral side. (lol) If that is the case, genetically this would probably be classified as "a monster."

We all have dirty glass, but you do have an aberrant tang, IMO. The modern p.c. term for the variant may be "Special?"
Without genetic information, it's only a guess how special it is. Pretty for sure!

Out of curiousity, what did you buy this fish as? Like did you buy a yellow tang and this is what you got? Also, has its colors changed much over the years, or has it had this coloration since you bought it? Very very cool fish!
