I want to setup either a awc or just get a larger ato reservoir and the only ideas I really am coming up with are just a “slim trash can” from like home depot holding like 22gallons of water. Ovbiously these are not visually appealing next to a fish tank and was wondering if anyone had different ideas? Doesn’t have to be massive but would prefer something like 10 gallons so it’s not a constant refilling effort.

I don’t want anything ridiculous like a farming water holder setup as it’s going in my bedroom lol

What's your budget? You could go the custom acrylic route if you want for a decent amount if money and get something sleek looking to match your setup... maybe match that Lifereef skimmer;)

Didn’t really think much about budget really, just don’t want it to be hideous lol. Could be a good idea to match stuff. However @ like $30 for a trash can that is rectangular and may not be too ugly could might outweigh aesthetics this time..

Yeah for a couple acrylic reservoirs you're probably in the $300ish range. You could just get the trash bins then find a way to hide them like some piece of furniture they fit in

Here is mine.

Maxi doser AWC from a 12G reservoir.
I have a maxijet pump to mix on a maintenance mode for manual. All Ran from RODI, manually controlled.

Another 10G reservoir in stand for ATO from Doser 2.

ATO in PL to shut down during AWC.

If you want an AWESOME ATO res check out "luckreef" on Ebay. This guy makes just about any size you can imagine & I believe he will custom build also - https://www.ebay.com/sch/luckreef/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

I have a couple from him and they run circles around many of the commercially sold ATO res. And they are reasonably priced.

I just had luckreef build me a frag tank and am waiting on it. His build quality is excellent. I have a couple of Trigger systems ATOs but Luckreefs' stuff is better built and well thought out (He's obviously a reefer) And everything I've ordered from him is free shipping and he packs it super securely.

I use a pet food storage container for my awc. It holds 15 gallons and my awc changes out 1 gallon a day.

It would fit in my cabinet if I wasn't to lazy to move it, ha. I have the tank water being pumped outside so I only have to fill and add salt every two weeks.

I bought it on sale from amazon for $25. I'm pretty sure it's about the same price at petco.

Presently I use this. The drawer slides out and makes for very easy filling With a 5g bucket.

Not being nit picky but are you sure it holds 15 gallons? On amazon it says 13 and the larger one 80lb is for 20. lol just trying to see which I should get and if the extra few gallons is worth double the price!

Yeah, my bad it's actually closer to 17 gallons. Lengthxwidthxheight. Regardless it's enough to awc my 200 gallon system and i only need to fill twice a month.

And I like it 1000x better than the 25 gallon container I was using. As it's much easier to rinse out and clean if needed. Not to mention it takes up less space.

If it’s good enough for your 200 gallon it is plenty good enough for my 65 gallon lol!
Thanks these seem like a better idea than the hdx totes from home depot..

I use a 10 gallon aquarium for my ATO reservoir, cost about 10 bucks, you can visualize the level and it is not bad to look at. It is however under my stand So it’s appearance is not critical

I just bought mine.. did you only drill one hole in the top? Or do you need a whole for air as well.

Just the hole in top. I picked up the rodi fitting from bulk reef supply I think or amazon. I may have went a little overboard with the mp40, ha. I was using a heater at first but I stopped using it because my dos does several small water changes over an hour in the morning while I'm asleep that doesn't affect the temp of my tank.

Also my apex tells me how much water is being changed out and it updates every 24 hours. So if something was to get clogged it would stop and alert me.
