Hello, I'm new to the saltwater aquarium hobby and I'm trying to set up my first tank. I want to make sure I'm making the right decisions. So I looked at few forums and with some of the post I've read on this one I think this is best one to choose. I know the basics for salt water other than that still learning I currently have reptiles and axolotls so I figured why not dive in on a salt water/ reef tank. I do have a 10 gallon tank laying around that I figured could be a good starter tank before I go for my massive wall to wall tank ( one can dream) I have a list of things I think I need any input or recommendations would be greatly appreciated
List -
- Salifert Aquarium Magnesium Test Kit
- API Saltwater Aquarium Master Test Kit,
- API Reef Aquarium Master Test Kit, 1 count
^ the salt water test kit has some things the reef test kit dose not only reason for getting both
- Hydor Koralia Nano Aquarium Circulation Fish Pump, Black, 240 GPH
- Instant Ocean Reef Salt
- Coralife Deep Six Aquarium Hydrometer
- CaribSea Ocean Direct Live Oolite Aquarium Sand, 20-lb bag
- LvLrister Titanium Thermostat with Intelligent LED Display Submersible Aquarium Heater, 12.8-in, 200-watt
- Fluval Aquarium Power Filter c2

Welcome to R2R and the salty world. Take things slowly. Lots of knowledgeable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed.
If you can afford to get Hannah, Red Sea, or Salifert test kits. Better accuracy than API.

@Jimbhoy13 Hey I was actually looking at the Hanna digital egg testers but wasn't sure if I should wait for a bigger tank but guess it's better to buy once cry once

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!!

I would agree API has some accuracy issues. But for a ball park when you are just getting started it's not too bad.

If you start getting into more sensitive corals it probably best to upgrade to some better test kits.
