Hi, I ordered a BTA that's coming tomorrow. I have a AI Prime 16HD and wondering what settings are optimal for it.

BTAs love light. Mine are comfy right beside my acropora.

Can we see a pic of the tank so we can see the rockwork?

The signature series are all great but what you want to do is start at a lower power %.

A pic of the tank with the light included will help so we can better understand how high it is from the water, etc.

Hi, Its a 13.5 Fluval Evo. I have a sicce and no other corals.
Oof. That’s quite a small tank for nems.

I’m assuming it’s been up and running for a year?

These guys do not like new tanks.

They won’t do well in something not mature. Especially a small tank like that.

Good luck

Flow should be good. With lighting, the bta will likely adapt to any spectrum from an AI prime. Luckily, an AI prime 16hd is probably the most common light over a Fluval 13.5. I’m sure someone has a par map somewhere.

But for reference, I actually kept btas in a Fluval 13.5 under a kessil 360x. I think it was set to ~30% max intensity. This is comparable to AI prime at 50%. I think you’d be fine to start at 30-40% and slowly ramp up to whatever you want once the bta is settled and happy.

In my limited experience, water chemistry and nutrients are more of a culprit for sad anemones than lighting (unless you blast them!).

Having a tank full of nems, majority came with a tank I purchased. I ran a single xr30 gen4 with 90% intensity for a bit. After seeing most of the nems constantly move around, and ticked in some cases, or go into hiding…. A thought sprung in my head, drop intensity to 80 or 60 can’t remember. All of a sudden they where all sprung up! Going back up at the top if the corals and coming out of hiding. I’m now at 50% light intensity and the love it! Flows are light to mid. No more than that. I don’t know what I’m running being the current power head I’m using is a cheaper model just to get flows going. I’m waiting on my new tank, freight is taking it’s sweet time! ticks me off! LA, CA to Sacti CA is taking two weeks! ridiculous! The new tank I have a new return pump and a MP40 going in. But for now nems are loving life with one XR30 centered on a 47” tank, at 50% intensity with what, again just eye balling it, is a light to medium flow from the top side of the tank.
