So, as some have seen, I'm having a little issue with getting my Rainford Goby to eat in my NUVO 10.

Can I add a small piece of chaeto directly into the display tank? Would this be an almost for sure fix for my little guy if I added chaeto and a bunch of AlgaGen ReefPods Tisbe?

Thank you for any help, as always. I'm going to the LFS this morning and I'd really like to have an idea about this.

Is it to encore pods? If so some rubble in a corner would do the same job. If it's for food then I doubt it would eat it and there are better algaes that aren't such an issue in a display. The problem with chaeto is that as soon as you add it you will be clearing it up from the rest of your life. It breaks into tiny pieces and will go everywhere. You'd be better off with something like gracilaria or October.

It's only for pods. Ah, good to know. I may try the rubble idea. Can I simply pour the pods into the rubble pile and that's that?

I would do as advised above. Chaeto will be a nightmare around the tank and grow super fast under the right conditions. I would just keep adding pods to tge display as there will hide in the rockwork and mutiply. If you have sand already its perfect. They most likely wont stay in the box as the rock will have bbetter hiding for them. Also eith cheato. 24hr lighting is much better. Which you can't have in your display. I added 6 bags of pods when my tank was a month old. 3 in sump / fuge and 3 in display. My Mandrin is fat

So have said ochtodes above not October (annoying predictive text). I have little rubble zones in the corner of my tanks and my mandarin and scooter (two different tanks) are normally around them. It's amazing how much life these areas bring to a tank but if you have room for a little fuge in the back of the tank it's well worth it.
Some pods overhere are not worth buying loads of. I'm not sure if it's the same in the US but the ones we have quickly die in the display so won't help longterm. I find with good live rock and patience you normally have plenty of live pop up and adding refuges for them really helps but to get the most out of them you also need to feed them.

Alright, so I went and picked up some rubble, 8 ounces of pods, and some bacteria seed to help these little guys along.

Dosed the seed, put some rubble in one corner in the back. I also put some around the front of the tank because I think it looks good and I think my watchman Goby will like it.

I took my long baster and did a few squirts all around the tank, then I directed about 90% of them directly into the little rubble corner. Lights are off and I'm going to keep my return pump off for 15 mins or so. Let's see how this goes!

Maybe looking a little better? I've added 16 ounces of copepods and have been soaking both LRS reef frenzy and ROE in garlic before feeding.
