My BRS RODI came with a float valve to stop flow when full. I’m interested in a reliable second control system with high low sensors to better automate the level. Note, my RODI storage tank is thick wall plastic. Your reco is appreciated.

This is a biased answer, but I always want to through it in the hat. HYDROS is a fantastic device for an RODI system, looking at your station, I can see you are pretty dedicated to a different control system. However, you can still run both and get the best of both worlds!

Why is HYDROS good for a RODI system, small entry cost for a ton of control over your station and accessories that complement your mixing. HYDROS has a TDS Sensor that can alert you to any fluctuations, and apply logic to that to stop water production if TDS is greater than your set point. We also have a rope leak detector than can stretch around your entire station, sending you an alert and cutting off production if there is an issue. Water solenoids that can be used to flush the membrane, cut water production, etc automatically. Finally, using the RODI Output Preset in HYDROS is incredibly easy and straightforward, I'll attach a screenshot of what the Preset looks like.

Call Buckeye and ask for Russ. I've had his system running my RODI for 15+ years making my RODI without 1 time ever having an error or mishap.

15 years of perfect operation. all the parts are here in the link, but if you call him he will personally put the items together for you that will give you years upon years of perfect flawless control.

this unit https://www.buckeyehydro.com/hi-lo-tank-level-controller/

But with the heavy duty thick wall floats https://www.buckeyehydro.com/horizontal-float-switch/

I would add a solenoid valve that opens up at preprogrammed time and your valve can be second backup. This way either one can keep the or off.

I've purchased an industrial unit from them, can confirm, Russ from Buckeyehydro is great people! He was there to answer all of our questions! Found him on R2R a longgg while ago.

I use a high-low tank controller from @Buckeye Hydro to turn run my RODI I did add an additional relay and solenoid so i could bypass the DI for the first few minutes to remove any TDS creep water when it starts.

If i was going to do it again i might try the capacitive level sensors so I did not have to drill a hole in the tank.

Never knew hydros was capable of this. Never really looked into it as I'm deep into the apex family. Might have to check out the hydros now. Thank you!

I use the Hydros to control my RODI and storage tanks. If the DI tank hits the low sensor it will refill it. If the fresh salt water tank hit the low sensor and the water in the mixing tank is ready it will transfer the water in the mixing tank to the fresh salt water tank. When that completes it will refill the mixing tank using the RODI. I also use the RO side of the RODI to supply water to my fridge for ice. I have a RO bladder tank so the Hydros turns on the RODI for 10 minutes every hour to make sure it refills if it was used. I have solenoid on the input to the RODI and a solenoid between the RODI and the DI storage tank and also a solenoid between the RODI and the mix tank. I use a PMUP pump to transfer the water from the mix tank to the fresh saltwater tank. Of coarse there is more than one controller used for this. I also have my ATO, AWC and dosing pumps controlled with the Hydros. I have a build thread with screenshots of the settings and an explination of what I am doing on my build thread here. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/canopy-and-stand-build-for-42-gallon-hex-tank.317822/page-7 The Hydros stuff starts on page 7 if you want more information.

I had installed a high and low float sensor from Spectrapure which essentially allows you to set a high and low for the water replenishment. Then the float valve was my backup safety valve. Besides that I had a 2 way ball valve and leak sensor but it's been failsafe proof for a few years now
