Coralline on the back glass - let it grow?

I’ve always said that a sign of a healthy reef is a thriving population of coralline algae. I’ve always liked the purple stuff and generally just let it grow where it wants, except on the viewing side glass. I was surprised to learn that some reefers hate the stuff and do their best to scrape it off, the same they would strive to keep green stuff at bay.

What is your policy on coralline algae? Let it grow or scrape it off?

My previous tank got a little out of control

I don't scrape the back walls at all. My fish. Snails and urchins are always acting like they're eating something back there. I think some folks just like a nice sparkling clean tank. Me not so much, front and ends for viewing get scraped.

I only scrape the front glass.

My back wall is a black acrylic AIO. Coraline doesn't seem to grow so well on that surface. But my nuclear death palys sure do!

90g peninsula DT, this is the back panel with the overflow.

Kinda disappointed in pic, normally I have a sally lightfoot crab that literally hangs on the algae.

I scrape the front, sometimes the sides. Definitely ain’t no Instagram tank. Lol!

I choose not to have coralline but its a matter of preference and does at times make a nice background
