Could this setup work long-term?

I'm sure this is probably a dumb idea but I have seen people do it before I'm just curious about the viability of something like this.

If it's in house, probably, but I would question it's filtration/pump situation to see how many modifications you would need to do... I'd be concerned about salt creep and what type of screws/etc is in the wood and how the wood is finished etc. I.E. if it's just MDF I wouldn't expect it to last long... lighting might be difficult too... depending on if you're planning on keeping corals.

Paul Cuffaro, the Youtuber, has one of these setup as an African cichlid tank and its got a fly river turtle in it too. He does have an additional canister filter on it tho

I don't think it would do very well as a saltwater tank. It would be sweet tho. I love a top down view.
