Critter ID: White starfish - good or bad? Don't think its asterina...

I've seen two of these starfish in my tank....One a bit bigger than the one pictured. These guys good or bad? I've zoomed in and the lights aren't on yet....so sorry it's kind of blurry. This starfish was about 1 inch or so. He quickly hid under the coral when I shined the flashlight on him. ps....the white areas of the rock are because my urchin was working this side of the tank last night.

That is a Micro brittle star. They are harmless detritus consumers that do not grow very large (arm width a little larger than a quarter, perhaps) and multiply in our systems. Overall, a wonderful hitchhiker and member of the clean-up crew !

I like that yours are white -- that's cool.

Actually, I think the one on the right was in the process of spawning!
