Is this cyano? The sand in the back corner of my tank has a red/pink tint to it and I can see little strands of what might be cyano. Im also battling other unknown algae in the tank.

Do I have cyanos? I was told before that it was brown algae by someone on r2r that is supposedly a algae expert. He had made suggestion to everyone with cyanos to do a deep cleanse, I forget the name of this type of cleaning, where you take everything out of the tank and clean it off.

would a reactor of some type help with this?

GFO, granular ferric oxide is a chemical filter media that is used with a reactor that hinders algae growth in reef tanks by removing phosphates from the water column.
